not able to start/stop http server through websphere console

i have installed an http server version 6.1 on a windows 2000 server as a remote webserver and a websphere ND 6.0 in a seperate windows 2000 server.

After creating the webserver in the deplopyment manager using the configurewebserver script and configuring the required username and password for remote administartion I am not able to stop and start the webserver from the console.

However I am able see remote configuration of the webserver ,see log files and even able to propagate the plugin to the remote server.

The user name configured in the console has necessary security settings in the webserver. In the httpserver local security settings it is configured as
-as a part of OS
and log ON as service.

The HTTP server is also installed as a service in the windows 2000 system.

admin_error log has the follwoing error message.
Fri Jun 29 16:26:51 2007] [error] DoRestart: (AC_E_RESTART_FAILED) Error 721060 accessing service IBMHTTPServer6.0 for operation stop. \n

Pl guide me if I have missed something.

right click "My computer". Select "Manage".Open the "Services console". Service Display Name = "IBM HTTP Server 6.1"
We see display name . to chech the service name right click the "IBM HTTP Server 6.1" and select properties.

In these properties Check the Service Name e.g(IBMHTTPServer6.1) which is required by the WAS Server to administrate IBM HTTP Server Remote/Local.
